An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Farm Manager within our Livestock Team. Based in South Auckland, you will be accountable for managing and maintaining a poultry farm operation. You will need planning skills with an enquiring mind and be a good problem solver.

As a Farm Manager you will be responsible for the breeder flocks, ensuring each flock achieves high standards through careful monitoring and control. You will monitor your flocks daily to ensure good health and welfare, as well reporting on farm production on a regular basis.

This role is challenging and hands on so it requires a person who is meticulous, thorough and self-motivated.

To be considered for this role you will need at least 5 years previous experience in poultry farming, preferably in breeding. A relevant tertiary qualification would be preferable, but is not essential.

Other essential attributes include the following:

• Experience with livestock including a genuine concern for animal welfare.
• Experience with modern poultry farm equipment and control systems.
• Staff management experience.
• Be committed to quality and budget management.
• Experience liaising with service providers.
• Focused on health and safety
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Be mechanically minded and have an understanding of equipment and machinery maintenance.
